Cape Destinations 2026: Toulouse
A Weekend in Toulouse for leisure or business? Here’s a few insights…
A weekend in Toulouse has a way of slowing things down, whether you're there for business or a short break.
Coming for leisure?
If you're there for leisure, it's an easy city to settle into. Walk along the Garonne River, grab a coffee near Place du Capitole, and just wander. Boulangeries, small shops, places to sit for a while you don't really need a plan.

If you’re thinking about food…
Food is simple but done well. L'Entrecôte is something of an institution — no menu, just steak and frites, usually a queue outside, and worth every minute of it. A glass of wine afterwards, and that's pretty much the evening sorted. And when the light starts to fade and hits the buildings just right, everything turns that soft pink Toulouse is known for. It's one of those things you don't forget.

Coming for business?
From a business perspective, Toulouse punches above its weight. The city has a strong and established presence across aerospace, sports and pharma, and if you're working with clients in any of those sectors, you're in the right place. It's also a city that lends itself naturally to client entertaining, relaxed enough to feel easy, but with enough quality around you that it never feels like you're compromising.
We hosted clients one evening on the rooftop at Mama Shelter Toulouse, a couple of cocktails, great views as the sun went down, and exactly the kind of atmosphere where conversation flows without any effort. It worked really well. For something more formal or central, Place du Capitole is an excellent option. One of the great civic squares in the south of France, it's easy to get to, instantly impressive, and somewhere clients naturally respond well to.

Stay well in Toulouse…
Where you stay makes a difference too. Mama Shelter Toulouse if you want something social and energetic, La Cour des Consuls Hotel & Spa Toulouse - MGallery for something more boutique and considered, and Pullman Toulouse Centre Ramblas if you need a solid, well-located business base.
Toulouse isn't complicated, and that's probably why it works so well.
