Cape To Cape

There were many reasons behind the name CAPE. I first contemplated the word as I drove from the Nedbank Golf Challenge in Sun City to take a flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town. It was 2015 and Cape Town was hosting the Rugby Sevens Series for the first time; it was to be my last event with THG Sports.

The 'Mother City' is renowned for its natural beauty and it takes my breath away on every visit. The city tops countless lists of best places to visit, and for good reason. For anyone that has visited I'm sure they'll agree the region is simply stunning, and for those who haven't, you should!

Capes cover and yet are infinite.

Then there's the association with the superhero and superpowers. Whether the Clark Kent persona sat behind a desk at the Daily Planet, or flying around the world saving the planet, we all have people who amaze us, teach us, and inspire us. We all have the power to be a hero to ourselves and each other, whether we always believe it or not.

The concept that resonates the most to me though, is the geological form of the cape. Land stretching out as far as it can reach, weathering the storm as waves crash around in every direction. We might not always know when or how, but as calm restores, the sun comes out and everything can look even more beautiful than before.

To me this encapsulates the very best of the human spirt. It's through our greatest challenges we learn the most, we adapt, and find new ways to shine.

On leaving THG I was headed for Western Australia for a friends wedding, and ended up living in Margaret River for a while close to the Cape to Cape trail. Another beautiful spot, I would highly recommend visiting here, there's a few rather nice wines in the region too!

With some super support from my Aussie friends, I had the time and space to cultivate the idea of starting a business, and Corporate Cape was formed.
